Vlad's party

Vlad's party

François Carrière de Glencoe · 2025

Created blindly, without a specific goal, *Vlad’s Party* marks a pause between two stages of the artist’s pictorial journey: the reds of *Blessed Fruit of Your Womb* and the subsequent exploration of flesh. In this in-between space, the artist allows himself to be guided by chance, while maintaining a dialogue between instinctive gesture and control.

From this colorful chaos emerges the head of Nosferatu—Vlad, the vampire—but it is light that dominates. The unsettling figure seems almost absorbed by the explosion of colors, as if the paint were transforming shadow into energy and gradually erasing the darkness of depression.

Created with gesso, acrylics, and inks, *Vlad’s Party* is an unexpected celebration, a chromatic exuberance that affirms the return of movement and life in a new burst of energy. It bears witness to a transition: not a break, but a patient continuity, as in weaning, where each hour and each day only has value if they find their tomorrow.
