Les chaumes d'or

Earth and sky unite in a textured, red-hued space, without horizon, almost liturgical.

The stubble shimmers in a golden light, as if touched by a divine hand or haunted by a fiery past.

Is it the end of the day, or the end of the fighting? Silence reigns. A field or a cemetery, an offering or a memory—the stubble stands like prayers frozen in gold.

The tension between the symbolic and the concrete, between inner narrative and direct imagery, suggests that this canvas may belong to the lineage of existentialist paintings, where painting is less a representation than a field of experience.
